Since we're starting all of it over who's going to pair up with who? Get this out of the way first.

I figure we can do it via randomization, albeit while trying to avoid having people pair up with whoever they were paired with before- no offense intended to you, of course- to prevent the start from being a bit... trivial, considering situations will likely be related to one another.

No worries for me there. My last partner is out of the action this time.

It'd be fun playing off someone new for everyone, though, I agree.

we could use a die roller, reducing the number of the roller by one (IE start with D5 then D3) for the first two of the main six, alphabetically(With the obvious exception being if Applejack rolls Fluttershy, in which case it would skip to Pinkie), and then match the remainder.

so
roll 1, AJ
1- Fluttershy
2- Pinkie Pie
3- Rainbow Dash
4- Rarity
5- Twilight Sparkle

then do again, minus the new roller and the person rolled last, check to make sure no redundant match, go to one if redundant, and bam, done. Thoughts?

apparently i didn't explain well.

Here, I'll do an example.

Applejack is first alphabetically, roll a D5 (D6, reroll on 6)
2, 2 is Pinkie
applejack paired with Pinkie
Fluttershy is second alphabetically, remove her and Pinkie, roll D3(D6 where if >3 then -3)
1, 1 is Rainbow Dash
Fluttershy is paired with Dash
Twilight is paired with Rarity

But, AJ-Pinkie was done the first time around, so if we don't want that, we need to reroll this one.
